This morning I saw the orthodontist for my TMJ..they took x-rays and measurements and stuff. They had mouth numbing stuff so I wouldn't gag when they put stuff in my mouth..LOVE it haha. I wish the orthodontist in Texas had that. The orthodontist came in and we looked at my x-rays and pictures. He definitely saw the right side was different from ( Read more... )

Wow, that is definitely a big decision. That is potentially a lot of money! If it could possibly help alleviate any pain and discomfort that you are feeling, it is probably worth it though.

That sounds like a bite block! I had one for a few years (I was in the states -- my orthodontist was one of the guys that invented the device... kinda cool). They're pretty neat, actually, and you'll adjust to talking with one in. I'd say go for it.

After years of orthodontics, I've been having a lot of shifting all of a sudden, and I'm developing TMJ myself. If I could afford to fix it, I definitely would.
