Seward's Day?

Today is apparently a holiday I'd never heard of till a few days ago..it's Seward's Day. I guess it commemorates when Seward bought Alaska from Russia..nice haha ( Read more... )

Wow! That's a really gorgeous video. :) I'm jealous that you're even that close to a volcano. They're so cool.

I hope your grandma is doing well soon, I'm sorry she has to go through that.

lol I'm not really that close..it's 100 miles from Anchorage and I'm 6 hours from Anchorage. Though I'm close enough to see ash in the sky still. The webcam has a sweet view of the volcano right now: http://www.avo.alaska.edu/webcam/Redoubt_-_Hut.php

That's awesome that you can see ash from your window! Volcanoes are so powerful...wow.

I have never heard of Seward's Day either...you learn something new every day! Haha.
