Karla was delighted by this face. Both that her nose was Warren's and that it was, well, the size of an infant's.
"She's inherited your caste, my Lady," the Healer said. "Well, she's a little Queen, she is. No sign of her being a Black Widow or a Healer, but it might take a few days longer for her psychic scent to grow strong enough to tell." She held out a cup for Karla. "Drink this, my lady. It will help you regain your strength."

Okay, not that awkwardly. He was quite pleased with himself for playing those bells, thank you very much, even if he wasn't completely certain that having a contraction had been worth the satisfaction of being an annoying little shit through the process. Even so, any awkwardness was mostly because he was well aware that Raven was trying to catch his eye.
When it looked like maybe he wasn't going to be interrupting anything important, he stood and made his way over, a folder under one arm, a stuffed toy under the other.

It had been stupid and annoying and he was totally willing to admit that he had been an ass. But, in Jono fashion, it was a little something he could tell Kayla later on. She totally counted. There had been bells.
