Hairdresser, Nevermore

May 11, 2011 20:36

As a treat to myself before heading on holidays, I'd decided months back that I'd get myself a professional haircut. Usually I have The Husband cut my hair, or, when possible, Mars has a go at it in her basement with a pair of rusty shears - both do a top notch job. But this time I thought I'd indulge in a little girliness and actually pay some ( Read more... )

I'm trying to find the Wheels and Dollbaby campaign from last spring that could give you a hairdo idea. But then WADB is pinup girl stuff, so maybe you wouldn't go for that anyways.

It's hair, I'll tough it out. I'm just being a whiny baby about it, because it was a whole bunch of shite all at once, and I sometimes feel that people don't *listen* to me - hence social anxieties.

yesterday was an accursed day. I don't know anyone who didn't run into a million problems yesterday myself included.

I feel for you.

I hadn't paid for a haircut ever, when I got mine chopped off. I'd been thinking about it for a while and basically decided I was up for a grown-up haircut, and that I could now afford a grown-up price tag on that. Good person was my first choice, price second factor.

I went for the second most expensive person in an expensive salon, but based on recommendations (my hair now costs me £140 every 8 weeks, basically, for highlights and cut, and NO tip because that's plenty of money handed over already and the UK makes sense). But I got the opposite of your day. I got a brilliant hairdresser lady, and they honour the promotions they advertise, and she has good chat and so on. She moved salons, and I was bereft because they wouldn't say where she'd gone, but Facebook to the rescue - I found her.

So there is good out there in hairdresser world, but you did get a shitty, shitty day end. Boo on them.

It's just not worth the anxiety. I'm gonna do my own damn hair from now on. xx

Seriously? You decided to get a haircut and you didn't ask me for a recommendation? Sillyhead!

Next time! See Paris at Tricoci. It's kind of an intimidating downtown salon, but if you mention my name to her, she is ALL ABOUT a cheaper under the table cash haircut. Like $60 altogether. And it will be the most glorious haircut you've ever had...from your deepest dreams and through her hands. As for color...you're better off doing your own in the end. Especially since you want all over and not a bunch of fancy highlights or lowlights.

I should have, but I didn't :( If I ever need girlie stuff again, will definitely ask you. I still need to remove about 800 blackheads from my nose, but might mix up some gelatin and water for an impromptu nose peel.
