My daughter has to be tested for "Developmental Disabilities" this may not be a huge thing for some people but I'm devastated, brokenhearted, and I generally feel worthless because if she does have them there's nothing that I can do to change them

don't worry too much about your daughter yet. she's really too young for them to be able to tell a whole lot. we thought my older son had problems because he wouldn't respond and didn't talk until he was almost three. It turns out he's just weird and has tested off the charts for intelligence. One of the worst things we as a society can do to children is put a suffocating label on them because they will grow into the label. (they wanted to label donovan autistic, he may be borderline, but I truly don't believe he is. I have him on the "feingold diet" right now and it's helping his adhd symptoms tremendously, makes you kinda wonder how they can legally put all those additives in food, but that's a-whole-nother story, go to www.feingold.org for more info)
anyways, don't put too much stock in doctors that make a living by having patients just yet.

thanx for the info... so far I'm trying not to worry too much but when we went for her audiology appt. she was completely unresponsive so they have to do this thing where they sedate her and put headphones over her ears and they measure her hearing by recording her brain waves in response to the sounds... Oy vey!

Don't feel too bad about hearing test stuff, i had problems with donovan with that, too. we thought he was deaf, or partially deaf, turned out he just had a LOT of fluid backed up in his ears because the doctor that was "Treating" his recurrent ear infections didn't care enough to see if his treatments were working. also, little kids sitting still for boring things... well that's just asking for trouble :)

i forgot to ask, can my house be next? with the hours i've been working lately it's a total disaster. it makes me wonder how it gets this messy when we're hardly ever here. i have no dishes. it's official. i ate cereal out of a giant bowl with a tablespoon, it doesn't get any more pathetic than that. :D
