Pretty much all about food.

This comm is my new crack: can_i_eat_this. Seriously. Ever since the whack-level of spnstoryfinders reached critical mass (somebody WANTED to find the Jensen-raped-by-Harley story?) and I had to 86 it, I've been at a loss for vicarious comm experience. I haven't actually answered any of the queries, mind you. (Although I probably could answer a lot, what with having food ( Read more... )

Dude, I'm coming over to your house for dinner! Save me a cinnamon roll!

Hee. If you're making it in time for dinner, you're gonna need the Metallicar on steroids!

One cinnamon roll, coming up! And I forgot to post about the coffee, and since it was YOU responding, I remembered. I've been experimenting with chicory, and am finally starting to find the right combos. Today was scoops of dark french roast with a couple of layers of chicory in the filter cup. It's been really interesting (with some failed blends along the way) but I suppose I wouldn't be so daring if I didn't have an endless supply of coffee. My sister sent me (literally) fifteen pounds of coffee for my birthday last year. *L*

*wipes up drool* I have been FAILING on coffee lately, I don't like how anything I make at home tastes. Which SUCKS.

But! I am willing to taste test all your attempts. WHY don't we live close enough to meet for breakfast??

I had to rush over and friend that comm immediately! It is teh crack!

Wow, your meals sound wonderful. I've been Miss Convenience Food lately, and also have been eating like I'm a walking hormonal surge. (Considering the hot flashes I've had lately, yes.)

It is *totally* a crack-comm! Whee! I hooked someone!

I love to cook (and eat...hah!). I vote that during our upcoming exodus, we eat like Sam 'n Dean at least once or twice. I wonder, can one google "diners with kick-ass food and chipped formica"? ;)

Are you getting snow as well?

Ahhh, perfect timing!! I was just coming over to tell you we found a new "house wine" (the wine we buy a case or two of for everyday drinking). It's a 2007 Jumilla (I mentioned to you that I've been on a mad Spanish kick, yeah?) called Luzon. $7 a bottle at Plum Market!!! \o/ Seriously, it's better than most $20+ stuff out there. I'M IN LOVE. ♥

And it would be amazing paired with stroganoff.

To the marinara sauce question--bring it, we will have something to use it with--stuffed shells would be fun. I haven't made those in awhile. Or I could attempt making my own ravoli again. I do have a recipe for a Mexican chocolate pudding with kahula whipped cream ear marked for your visit--if you like pudding.

I was on the verge of emailing you to see what you were up to these days-- you're hardly ever around! But I hope that's for good RL reasons and not excessive busy-ness at work and such.

My husband's our cook, and he's making more of our low-calorie recipes that he used to make often (before kids). So last week we had stir-fry ham with pineapple and peppers, peasant stew with chicken (\o/ on that one), and last night beef and ancho chili stew (more \o/).

I'd hoped to get some sugar-free baking recipes from the library yesterday, but as always the books on a given topic are never at our branch of the library.

How about some split-pea or lentil soup? I miss making those.
