Gawain is out on the left side of the house with a whole lot of red string and some surveying tools, humming to himself.

He’s trying to figure out if there’s a good spot for an addition to the house before he broaches the topic of plans and materials for it with the rest of the household.

"Having fun?" Mordred inquires from the door, tiredly.

"I'm enjoying being productive," Gawain says, looking up and smiling gently, "If that's the same thing."

"How are you doing?"

He's been bordering on a constant scowl for a couple of weeks now, and it doesn't take much to tip the balance. "There's a limit to the number of stupid little things I can fix around here." He leans against the doorframe, folding his arms.

"That's certainly true," Gawain says, "I'm sure eventually we'll run out of creaky cupboards."

He frowns at his string, which has gotten tangled. "If we can build this addition, do you think a big project will help or make things worse?"

[littlebetter]

"What are you doing?" squinting at Gawain and his string, all.

"Surveying!" Gawain says, "We need more house. I think Clar'll run off to the woods to live with Heliabel if we're not careful."

[littlebetter]

"I told Lady Cywyllog I'd camp in the woods if there wasn't room. I've been doing it long enough before now."

[girdleforakiss]

Gawain grins. "That's good of you, but we do need more room."

"Anyway," he says, and suddenly looks giddy and shy, "At this rate Ragnelle might come looking for me, and you know what she'll say if we can't find a room to ourselves."
