It Sucks to Burn the Tip of the Finger

I burned the fingertip on my left middle finger.  I needed to remove a cookie sheet from the oven and there were no oven mitts, so I used my leather gloves, which would have been fine, except that I forgot that the right hand glove has a few holes.  Ouch ( Read more... )

Yeah - the blister from my fingertip burn went away and came back two weeks later. They really do hurt.

You guys obviously don't cook enough... I get burns on my fingers all the time and they don't bother me. In fact, it takes a really nasty 2nd degree burn to make me notice it anymore.

So I guess what I'm saying is - if you burn yourself more, you'll feel it less in the long run.

For the record, my burn was a nice, white blister, which I believe qualifies it for 2nd degree. And it was remarkably painful the day I got it.
