I've always really loved Linus' voice. Or I guess, whoever the actor was who voiced him. It's almost lispy, but not. Hard to explain, but I love it.

I agree! For a tv special that was apparently thrown together at the last minute with little notice, they did a great job of casting on this.

I saw a show once that got together all the kids who had voiced the Peanuts characters over the years for the various shows, and I remember being surprised at how few of them there were. Apparently they cast the kids young enough that they were able to use them for multiple specials. They also did a good job of having the next group of voice-actors matched up nicely to the voices of the previous actors.

Thank you!! Yes, I was really happy with how it went. They asked me to reserve them 30 minutes max, but she ended up talking to me for over an hour. I was actually interviewing for 3 positions, and she really seemed to like me. I think one of the positions is a long-shot, but the other two I think I have a decent shot at. The biggest hurdle is that they got about 100 people applying for each of those positions, so there's a lot of competition.

Yes, but they wouldn't be interviewing all 100 who applied! 100 is not a lot, really, in this climate. I'd guess they would have interviewed less than ten for each position, and probably fewer than five.

Personal 'fit' is also really important in these kind of organisations: do you share their values, would you get along with the people already working there, do you have great conflict-management skills and do you understand and empathise with their clientele. That, as much as your communication and fundraising skills, will have been what they were assessing in the interview.

Definitely keeping my fingers crossed!

Your thoughts on the personal "fit" are very encouraging in this case! I made a point in my cover letter of telling them that as the mother of a preemie, that MoD's mission is very important to me. I mentioned specific aspects of Helena's treatment which were impacted because of MoD. For example, the steroids they gave her in the womb to accelerate her lung development before birth were developed using funding from MoD. The tiny nasal feeding tubes, the particular incubator, and the tests that were run to be sure she didn't have any fluid on the brain were also all developed because of MoD. I kept that paragraph succinct in the cover letter, but I made sure they knew this was something I'm passionate about. I worried that it would be too personal to have included all that, but the interviewer mentioned to me that she really liked my cover letter and with your comments here I feel particularly encouraged about this ( ... )

Thank you so much! I'd really love to end up working with March of Dimes. Pookie is a preemie, so I love the work they do. :-D
