How sad that his brother has a default IMDB picture and Matthew doesn't. LOL Speaking of the Who-verse (sort of) your layout is lovely!

Eeep about the basic accounts. In-ter-es-ting...

I heard about DH earlier today! I'm excited about it, though the six-month wait will be killer.

Thanks re: my layout! ;-D Have you started watching Doctor Who yet? It's amazing to me how many former Roswellians I keep finding in the Whoverse ( ... )

I've still only seen a handful of the Dr. Who's, but that's more because I just haven't had the time to sit down and watch them in a row. I've loved a few of the eps I've seen.

Maybe LJ doesn't care about appeal so much because they've still got Vox which is free? They're still affiliated, aren't they? Though I signed up for a Vox account and basically haven't visited since... which so far as I've seen has been the trend. *shrugs*

Okay, I'm going to risk sounding like an idiot:

What's Vox?

Huh. Did not know about the Lewis connection. Yet another example of fandoms colliding. LOL. Funny that you point it out now too, because I was just going through my posts from July when I had fandom ADD because Doctor Who had just hooked me in, and all of the Harry Potter madness was happening. It made me giggle in rememberance. And now...again. Collide.

I did hear about the Deathly Hallows thing earlier this afternoon. Immediately missalee and I started discussing at what point in the book they should split the movie. lol.

Josh and I had a long discussion last night about where they'd split it, too! Or rather, I had a long monologue and Josh nodded a lot, as he was too tired to really care last night. ;-D ( ... )

You're going to laugh - I ended up writing this huge freakin rant about this and posting it as a separate entry. It's not like I needed to WORK or anything!

I was surprised that Deathly Hallows was going to be split in 2 movies but thought it would be the best because the final book is complicated. I'm tired of these people taking out parts of the book and not including them into the movies. IE, The Bourne Series, they totally screwed up on that.

I need to check into this LJ no longer offering basic accounts.

I have such mixed feelings about the moving being split into two! I think part of my problem is I'm not entirely happy with David Yates as the director. Maybe if I had more faith in him then this wouldn't rattle me at all.

Ooh, that business about LJ is going to be a problem. I've been telling frends they can join LJ for free and read locked drafts of my stories. Hm, I may have to move my flag elsewhere if I want to keep giving people that privilege...

Sounds like the only way people can join for "free" now is to get the accounts with advertising on them. If people are only joining in order to read your stories, then they probably won't care if there is an advertising bar (similar to google ads) running along the top or side of the page. That doesn't make it any less annoying, though!

I'll say what I mentioned elsewhere - it's an interesting move on LJ's part considering myspace and facebook are so huge now. I would have thought they'd be pushing hard to GAIN members, possibly by offering more icons or other features to free accounts, rather than by cutting one of their most popular features.
