So... why did Harry stay broken up with her? Why didn't he go running back to her and apologize and try to reconcile?Because he was amazed and astounded at Ginny and is already completely in love with her, of course ( ... )

Totally, totally agree with you on everything! I loved that Ron didn't come across as sulky and whiney as I felt they depicted him in GoF. The scene where he stands up for Harry in the Common Room on their first night back was very, very good.

And wasn't Neville just wonderful? I was so happy to see his character growth so well done!!

And the #1 thing I didn't like: WTH was that with Bellatrix killing Sirius with an Avada Kedavra? Did I see that right? It was so fast I couldn't tell if she hit him with the AK and knocked him into the veil, or if she missed, but he just stepped back into accidentally. The book clearly specifies he is hit by a red light that blasts him into the veil. We lost some of the impact of that scene and the uncertainty about his death.

This bothered me too, but I came home and checked the book, and she actually fires two spells at him. The first is red, and then, after Sirius mocks her and tells her she can do better, the second hits him in the chest and knocks him through the veil, but they never say what color the second spell was--just that Sirius's eyes widen in shock.

Oh, good catch! Truthfully, I've pictured it the one way for so long that I completely forgot the second spell. Now that you mention it, I do remember reading fan debates about it.

I've just re-read the section and it definitely does seem to allow for an AK to have been the final blow.

Gee, that crow sure tastes great! ;-)
