Wait a minute. People use more than one? Really? Whoa. Give me a moment to process that.
Most of my stuff is unbetaed. Not because I think I’m all that and a bag of Dove Chocolates (fuck the chips). But because most of the folks I’d ask are too busy working on their own fic or having their own lives to take time out to beta for me. At the moment, I can only recall using two. The first was my mother and once I started writing the more adult stuff I just wasn’t comfortable with that arrangement. Not a horror story. Her grammar skills are way above and beyond mine. She wasn’t really a plotting partner or anything, but as for the mechanics - she was brutal. LOL.
My dream story - obviously, my partner-in-crime, the lovely ladydeathfaerie . I think we work well together and I know we plot well together. Though I haven’t really had much for her to beta for quite a while. She’s almost always up for a session of bunny tossing and puts up with some downright silliness from me. A good beta is worth her weight in gold, though she’ll probably never see a single coin of it.
25 - Music - Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?
26 - What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a fic?
