Pesach Easter

Greetings flist. To those of you who observe the Jewish holidays, I hope you have a good Pesach.

And a happy Easter to my Christian friends. Inspired by the recent Damien Hirst exhibit (and a conversation with bluestocking79), I made a Hirst version of easter eggs.

Unsettled . . OH. THE. SYMBOLISM.

I'm not a "fan" of Hirst, per se. But I did giggle a ridiculous amount when I came up with the idea of cutting the eggs in half. And I did enjoy the show about him for as much as it revealed about Noel as it did about the representation of ideas in general. That sort of thing is stimulating.

But to be honest, I find Hirst cruel and cold. It's one thing to kill flies when they show up in unwanted places. It's another thing to breed them just so you can kill them in a spectacularly painful way.

Well, yeah, being a vegetarian does also contribute to my not liking Hirst. I love Tracey Emin so it's not like I'm against modern art or anything, btw. ;)And your eggs are a cute idea. ;)

Those are genius! I'm glad that you did not do a diamond covered egg, because finding loose diamonds in your egg salad sandwich for Monday's lunch is no fun!
