yay Nanageddon! I got in trouble for showing that to my nephews who were 6 and 8 at the time! I still think most Boosh episodes are pretty much ok to show kids, but my sister happened to come into the room THE ONLY 3 TIMES the F word was said so she thought I was showing her kids something with bad language in it! Hey the boys loved it though!
I already did the meme and already did L actually ;) look at my journal ;) I still think it's ok for kids. Not every episode (I probably wouldn't show a kid The Priest and the Beast, for example) but in general. Lots of kids over here like it and when I went to see them live there were kids there, including one girl who looked about 10 dressed in a mirror ball suit while her Dad was dressed as Bollo! :)
I remember Luscious Jackson! Do I get a prize for that? :D
I agree with every word you said about Elliott Smith. That song is particularly powerful to me, but I love every one of his songs. I'm consistently amazed that he was able to write such beautiful, emotionally true songs about such ugly, painful things.
As for your nightclubbing... well, I think that's just the Iggy effect. He makes everything just that little bit more sleazy, you know? He could make volunteering at a soup kitchen look sleazy. ;-)
Yah, Elliot Smith was amazing. And you're totally right about the Iggy effect. I think that's part of his appeal, actually! btw, he used to live in my 'hood (dunno if he still does as I've not seen him around in ages) but he used to make a regular habit of playing chess in Tompkins Square Park with all the drunken strung out homeless dudes.
As for Luscious Jackson - ZOMG, you TOTALLY get a prize for that! How about a couple of dancing Noels?
Happy Noel Day! I think I'll go do a birthday post before I head out. Tumblr has ESSPLODED today, btw. I will be celebrating tonight by meeting Richard Ayoade. How 'bout you?
ETA: Did you want a letter? I pick P for poncho. ^_^

How about the letter M for Measuring Spoons?
