Er, yeah, so, I wound up having a surprisingly emotionally upsetting experience yesterday followed by nausea for several hours - and hence not much work done. Soooooo, I went ahead and ordered the damn cape. At least it was on sale ( Read more... )

Bagels and coke are quite the mixture!

Well, coke always seems to settle my stomach. And bagels are bread, also easy on the tummy. Plus, I had them to hand as they were brought to me yesterday.

I did! There are some implausible elements, and part of the fun of watching is playing "spot the anachronism", but the acting is spot-on and the costuming/set is exquisite. Also, at least a nod to non-heteronormativity.

Especially DAME MAGGIE SMITH. I love the way the other actors pull back a bit in their scenes and let DAME MAGGIE be DAME MAGGIE. Also, Elizabeth McGovern, of all people, is excellent.
