Desire and weakness and fear. Oh my!

As some of you know, I am a regular reader of Rob Breszny's Free Will Astrology column. I find his weekly 'scopes a kind of hippie, poetic meditation. Ponderings, whether you choose to align them with the stars or simply use them as therapeutic points of contemplation.

Taurus this week reads:

Hungriest... also the most persistent.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan “Press On” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.

I'm a Saggitarius! What a team! Taurii are some of my favorites! (And problematic. My mom is one.) You sexy beast, heh.

Mine had to do with 'the love that stutters loves the best.' I've been obsessed with my lack of staying power lately. I love Rob Breszny!

Sadly, being good in school isn't sustainable in the long term. That was never a problem for me. A lot of people do get caught up in the positive feedback that school provides. It's hard to give up something that works.

Heee.

And yes, school does provide a support system during coursework that the dissertation does not.

This sounds like a good episode to listen to. I need to sit down and catch up on a few of these. The topics heighten my own self-awareness regarding non-productive behaviors.

It was a good episode, and not just for the content but also the discussion on statistics. I find I learn something new about how to interpret findings from listening, and in this episode he also provides an interesting mini-lecture on differentiating groups from individuals as units of measurement.

Thank you for suggesting it on your LJ awhile ago!

As a relatively placid Bull, I crave certain comforts and security and have become more risk-averse as I age. I am not an angry person. I'm easily amused. I make myself comfortable. But I also know that when placed in positions of risk, I sort of "come to life" to get what's needed done.

Incredible how that could describe me!

I'd forgotten that you are a fellow taurean although I believe the whole thing to be arrant nonsense as demonstrated by the fact that I married a scorpio (which is supposed to be a disaster waiting to happen) and we haven't kiled each other yet :o)

I'd forgotten too. It doesn't matter, as clearly we get along.

Taurus + Scorpio = lots of passion.
