So it looks like I won't be able to upload and sort my photos from the con until Sunday, as I have a dinner guest tonight and plans Friday night and Saturday. Wow! This is one of the most moving recaps of the con and of the fandom experience I've read, and I think you've put into words a growing feeling I have for what role the HP fandom plays in my own life.

I won't see your pics for a while then as we're heading for Scotland for a week on Saturday.

Roleplay is not really my thing but then I spent the first fifteen years of my life doing precisely that if you think about it! :oZ

Oh, abso-frickin-lutely. Except, yours was not 'happy fantasy' so much as 'get me off this ride.' Two sides of the same coin, really.

Yes, midnight book party releases have also been a source for this feeling. And OMG, I've done that too! Especially, flashing the snapecast totebag we gave out. And hey, I once got a date for wearing my gryffindor tie with a suit!

Being a fat girl myself I was worried (since this was my first con) about dressing in a 'Bellatrixish' outfit the first night. I mean nobody wants to see a fat Bella! lol. But noone gave me the 'ugh look at that fat pig' look, I felt comfortable and accepted.

Oh hey. I noticed you posted on your LJ that you won a pair of greying underpants at our meetup. So, did we chat? Will you post pics of yourself? I'd like to put a face to a name.

And yes, it was pretty cool not getting judged for weight in COSplaying. Though I admit, I cringe looking at a few pics of myself as I am currently at my heaviest.

Frankly i don't give a damn about ppl's genderization, it
s really none of my biz and it doesnlt alter my opinions on ppl. Folks are just HP fans.

But the nature of what I do and cosplay has those questions put to me as well.

I find dragon con to be a much differnt con experience so I hear you on HP con versus other con...agrees.

I am sick as a dog. bleh

Yes, that's exactly the point. It simply doesn't matter, as we're all HP fans, and ultimately that's what matters.

Well, you and I have had our conversations about gender play, and you have your own version of what you do. But it's precisely the combination of care for detail and passion for a craft that makes you stand out as a COSplayer.

And yah, I saw you got the con crud so bad you gave up smoking for a few days. I have a lingering mild congestion, so I got off lucky.
