White Collar Live WebCast -- Commentary/Semi-transcript

Mar 04, 2010 00:13

Ok, so I know I said I was going to do a commentary on "Front Man", but USA hosted a White Collar Live WebChat with Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay this afternoon and I was lucky enough to be able to get to watch it. I decided to give it a shot, not expecting much of anything ( Read more... )

I don't even watch this show and now I'm very intrigued. Soon as I catch up on Criminal Minds and a couple other shows, this is next on my to watch list.

The season finale is next week. :-( It's only a 13 episode show so far, plus the pilot. They just announced a second season renewal though. It shouldn't be too hard to catch up with. I know for a fact it's available out there if one looks in the right places ( ... )

I'm still all flaily over the webchat. Seriously. That's going on my list of things to watch when I get awfully, horribly depressed. Because it will never fail to make me smile.

I will be flaily for days. WEEKS. And I will try to get everyone to watch it, because it is the best thing I have seen in a VERY VERY long time.

BOYS. ELEVATORS. GRABBY HANDS. LOVE.

Parkour, also called "freerunning." It's about making use of the regular world around you to travel, rather than just walking somewhere.

The way they keep yelling it at one another makes me pretty certain that it's a joke they have on set, or something happened one day on set that created an in-joke about it.

Here is Colorado Parkour's show-reel, to give you a feel for it.

They almost lose it completely over the words "backpalming" and "cups and balls"-- both are magic trick references.

"Cupping and balling" (which is how the question is worded) is totally not the magician's term--it's Shell Game. But it provided hilarity, so I'll let it go. ;)

And now commences their bad accents. Usually southern. and in stereo.Matt is from Houston, and he had his Texan accent beaten out of him at CMU. So his southern accent is real (you can hear it slip out from time to time in interviews, or on an occasional word on the show). Tim has no excuse ( ... )

I just didn't know it had a fancy name. :-)

I read that as "Francy name" - because it started in France: "parcours du combattant"="obstacle course."

And they gravitated towards each other, and put their arms behind each other.

They really did - they start sort of spaced so that there's like 1/3 table, Matt, 1/3 table, Tim, 1/3 table. It doesn't take very long for the visual to become 1/2 table MATTYTIM 1/2 table. They keep rolling their chairs into one another. IT'S SO CUTE.

And he has another big gun, which I wouldn't mind seeing on an icon, although I doubt we'll even get much of a hint about it.

I assume you have seen the gun, yes?

YES. Peter is much sexier than everyone thinks. He has stealth sex appeal. It just sorta hits you out of nowhere all of a sudden, unlike his boyfriend Neal who is pretty from the first second you lay eyes on him.

They kept brushing elbows and being completely in each other's space and suddenly noticing and scooting back just a bit like 'oh, we need to behave' and it working for about... oh 30 seconds. Then the whole cycle starts over.

A friend described them as having special magnets that just inevitably draw themselves toward each other, no matter what/where they are. And so far, they seem to be right.

No. I have not seen the gun. Plz to be telling me where to be seeing it... I've seen some pictures that rival Matty in the askdfhkshdfkdj HOT department, but not that. (Although I heard about there being a series he did involving his character masturbating and I was like... oh THAT's going on the must-see list. Dirty, dirty, I know. :-/)

Hi, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS :D

The salshy slasher in me flailed through the whole thing, mainly @ the "That's right. Except for that gun... Moving on" Because Tim's face was so giggly and knowing... They need to be left in a room, alone, with a camera. That'd be FANTASTIC!

ps: I'm new to the fandom :P

Bye :)

Hi! Welcome to my corner of the world, please stay a while. I enjoy company. Feel free to comment anytime. (I do sometimes tend to be slow to respond though.)

And you're welcome.

They have something special going on, the two of them, although they did seem to have a very odd fascination with Peter/Tim's 'gun'. I want to see one with Tiffani and them next, because what I've seen with the three of them, she's as goofy as just them.

And really they pretty much were left alone in a room with a camera for this webcast. I think there was maybe one or 2 other people there, running the lights and camera. That's it. (Also, that's why it was epic and they forgot to actually behave themselves by about 5 minutes in.)

It's a fun show, and fun fandom. I put up recs (although my computer just fried, so batch #2 is on a bit of a hold) and I'll admit that there may be some fic for me on the horizon too-- already in the works. Stay tuned! ;-)

All three of them do commentary together on at least one episode, so we'll at least get audio-goofy.

And it will be EPIC. I cannot WAIT. :-D

But I want a webchat with the 3 of them, considering the chaos it was with just Matty and Tim. (best. webchat/interview. EVAR.)

Just watched the webcast thing and just wondering, does Matt Bomer really have 180 IQ? He can't be that perfect can he? Or maybe I just misheard/misunderstood it.

I think Matt said he wanted the 200 IQ of Neal, then Tim replied with something like, "well 180 is pretty great" and Matt says yes but 200 is something else. Which I took as Matt has a 180 IQ but wants 200?

Come on... Nobody can be that perfect!

I believe they are referring to Neal most likely having an 180 IQ...
