I've just downloaded a bunch of pretty brushes and went to install them like I used to on XP and... apparently doing it on Vista is NOT the same. Can anyone help me with how to install my new brushes on Vista?

1. you must change the extensions for all the files to .gbr

2. place the brushes (as gbr files) in the folder C:\Users\yourname\.gimp-2.4\brushes (go to start, on the right hand side click on your name, open the gimp folder, then the folder called brushes.

3. if gimp is already open, then refresh brushes. if closed they should show up the next time you open the program.

And if you want them to take on the color of the Foreground color, save the gbr files in Grayscale mode.

Be careful cuz Vista has two seperate folders, and if you get them in the wrong brushes folder they wont load. It is so annoying!
