O noes! You can't read endings??? *LOL* I'm the same way. I do the same thing with suspenseful books. I'm such a spoiler hor.
I'm so JELLUS!! I want an eReader so badly. *cries real tears of jellus*
I've been wanting an eBook reader for such a long time, but they haven't come down in price enough for me to justify purchasing one. I thought that Amazon's might make one within reach, but it was too expensive; plus they made the software proprietary, which made it even less attractive because there's so many excellent books out there for free at places like the Gutenberg Project.
I have a bunch of ebooks stored online if you want some of them. Let me know and I can share the link with you. You can keep what you want and toss the rest. Call it borrowing. :)
It's funny because in the beginning I wasn't interested on an ebook reader. I thought they were ridiculously expensive. However, DH changed my mind.
I also consider the Kindle for amazon, but that exclusive software tipped the balance for me. Project Gutenberg (among others) has excellent books that I can easy download and read, I didn't think it could be manage with the Kindle.
The Sony does have some bumps too when downloading from certain formats, but I have a genius at home and he fix it for me. DH was the one who cough out the courage and bought it and brought it home; I fell in love with it from the first try. He bought it on our card so now I only have to pay up for it. I normally don't buy things this expensive but this time I could not help myself, and so far it's been worth it.
If you can, I would love to borrow some of the books you have.
I sent you links through LJ to my DivShare account. There are also a bunch of audio books on that account. Lots of different formats.
Can you read comic books on the Sony? That would be the real deal breaker for me. I've always wanted to be able to have something that will allow me to take manga around.
The kindle is expensive and the thing that tip towards the Sony was that exclusive software thing. DH is not too crazy on 'exclusive' things regarding electronics.
I'm glad you liked the book too. I love historical fiction, so this book has me absolutely enchanted. I do hope, nothing happens that leaves me horribly disappointed in the end. So far everyone that has read it, loves it so I have high hopes.
