The 'believable complex background' you referred to has had me giving a somewhat rueful smile. Originally, I planned to make this simpler, and shorter, and concentrate solely on the reconciliation between Remus and Tonks, and how they went on from there. But I'd done almost exactly that before, and there must have been so much going on for the Order in the days after Dumbledore's death, which affected them both, that it seemed too good an opportunity to waste. Besides, if I'm going by the bio, R/T are not only having to contend with getting to know each other as lovers as well as friends in a relatively short timescale, but everything around them is changing at speed as well.
I take it from what Remus says at the end that someone literally did say ( ... )

And thank you so much! :) Yes, Remus deserves a good shake in this, if not several, but I've probably been slightly unfair to him where I've ended this. It is, however, well overdue that he stops the 'terror' part referred to in the bio and does something about the 'elation' bit. ;)
I may have got carried away with the mad mirrors... LOL.

Jokes aside, this is lovely. shimotsuki said everything I wanted to say, I think, LOL. This is all just so raw here, the little baby steps toward each other, Remus' skittishness. He's REALLY been knocked around in life, and you've captured that well here. So curious to see how you get them down the aisle after this!

There is a pause.
“Nymphadora.” A faint smile appears on his face; a ghost-like imitation of the old one that he used so readily but a smile nonetheless. “I doubt there will ever come a time when you wouldn’t dare.”
It’s the smile that does it. Or the warmth in his voice. Damn him.
When I read this yesterday evening, the following conversation took place in our living room:
Me: Awwww..!!
Husband: What?
Me: It's just... he thinks she's brave. And he smiles so wonderfully.
Husband: Who?
Me: Remus! (Dah!)
Husband: Okay. Right. *shakes head*
My husband is not a fanboy. Then again I guess most husbands aren't;)
This was gorgeous! I'm thrilled that you've written new fic, and there's more, yay! I especially love your Remus here, you've really captured him. So looking forward to the rest:)

Thank you very, very much for the lovely comments. Your husband made me laugh like mad; mine would probably have said, "Oh not him still! Aren't you tired of them yet?!" Apparently not, it seems the bio has fired me up with new ideas. Even if keeping in line with what it says is currently driving me a little nuts.
About 1200 words got written today, though I have to say there is still little sign of any weddings on the horizon... ;)
Thank you again, and hope your R/S day is going well!!!
