I've not posted much of late, mainly because 'busy' has been an understatement. Here's a quick round-up, though.

Under the cut so you can skip my rambling. )

academic interests, the wedding, family, loncon, pretty places

Looks like a such a fun Con. Wish I could be at Writercon. I was at the first American one way back when. (Has it really been ten years?)

So sorry to hear about your neighbour. My condolences.

Our Writercon is on a teensy scale compared to yours - I so wish I'd been able to get to one of them. Ours will be about 24 people, but having a LOT of fun.

I'm very sorry to hear about your neighbor. *hugs*

The ring, the church, and the reception location all are lovely, though.

Yes, it was a bit of a shock. Not many years older than me, too.

The Wedding is going to be small-scale, but still a daunting organisational task.

I'd like to see yr thoughts on Thackeray, tho' I confess that while I've read VF 3 times, I can't get through his others.

I really like the "loose, baggy monster" kind of book - I'm not keen on James or Woolf or that school of art-writers. Thackeray is on a grand scale and full of the sort of snarkiness I admire.

The convention looks great fun - so long since I've been to one. *sigh*
Sorry about your neighbour.

It was fun, though the scale was crazy.

Thanks.
