Wine and weirdness

Jul 12, 2011 23:11

So, today was lazy to start with, but we did go out this afternoon, in search of bread, fuel and such trivia. Oh, and we saw some Art. Not necessarily SFW...

Much picspam below the cut. )

We have a knack for finding the weird even amongst the mundane...

Interesting mix of medieval architecture and sculptures that look like they were put together by preschoolers.

The architecture is more to my taste, I confess.

Love the photo looking down the street toward the tower. The art is - interesting. It'd be funny if one could by tabletop replicas in a gift shop somewhere. Can't you see Trunkless Willie being re-gifted, Christmas after Christmas!

I rather like those sculptures. Which part of Italy are you in again?

We're in Piedmont - the bit between Turin and Genoa, not far from Asti. I remember drinking a lot of "Nasty Spewmanti" as a student, but most of their wine is way better than that.

I quite liked some of the sculptures, but not so much The Man Who Has to Prove Nothing!
