This was great. I think you really got Xander's voice down pat.

There were many adorable parts and I giggled and I sighed, but there was nothing that made me cry. ::wipes brow in relief:: But this was one of my awwwww parts: He asked for the responsible party. Both Giles and I stand up. The doctor doesn’t bat an eye. I guess he assumed that we’re a couple.
Yaaay for an evolving world.

Xander's interactions with mini-Xan (hee) were wonderful. And, as much as he worried that Giles would remove him from his post for being too involved, it makes me wonder if that was the norm in years gone by when watchers married their slayers (just to show a more normal family facade) and, despite their training and determination, they loved their charges dearly. ::boos Quentin Travers::

And - hee - the Indy hat with Superman boxers. ::snorfles:: Xander should never change! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I really appreciate you pointing out the parts you liked.

Thanks for mentioning Sasha. It was fun for me to bring Xander more into a caregiving role with her as the story went on.

Xander's fears about being removed from the post come from having witnessed it happen to Giles. Not that Giles would ever do anything so hypocritical, but Xander's mind has a tendency to go to the worst-case scenario. (It was so hard not to include "You have a father's love for the child" in that list.)

I'm really glad you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thank you so much!

This is just wonderful. It's personal *and* personable. Very conversational and it sounds true-to-life. You've done a lovely job world-building the future of the Council and the Slayers, and made secondary characters seem real. Of course Xander would get involved, would become close to them--he's Heart, personified. I really enjoyed this fic. :-D

Thank you for posting!

It was fun being able to get into Xander's mind and watch certain walls that he's built up within himself break down over time. I'm really glad that you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for reading and commenting.

this was totally awesome! i loved the slow buildup and the final breaking points for both of them, Xander getting attached to one of the littlest slayers was very in character and i could sooo see this happening, great fic!

Thank you! Slow buildups are something that I've always enjoyed reading in fic, so I liked being able to take my time with their relationship and really make the changes stand out. I'm glad you liked Sasha and Xander's relationship. Xander's always struck me as having a very nuturing personality, so even though the thought of being a father would probably scare him, I could see him gravitating toward the closest thing that he would allow himself and having the kind of relationship he has with Sasha.

I'm really glad you liked this!
