Ok, so this little story was just so, so good. I love Buffy's running commentary as she watches the young Slayers on their first "solo" hunt - like being able to watch a movie in the privacy of your own home and giving advice the characters on TV. I love the fact that Giles is up there on the balcony, mirroring their meeting at the Bronze in "Welcome to the Hellmouth". And I love Giles just being Giles, observing Buffy observing the group of Slayers.

Of course, there is the cute turn the story takes when we find out that there are two different anniversaries, they are celebrating that evening: their ten year as partners and their three week as lovers... and it is very endearing that it is Giles who is keeping count of their time together as a couple.

Very in character. Great dialogue. And of course, you got the prompt in two different times and it original ways, so bravo! You should get extra points for that. :)

Thank you so much! So glad you liked it! This started because of the "exit, pursued by a Slayer", but then I realized that Buffy would be the one most likely to say something like that and the rest sort of unfolded from there.

I didn't think about it, but you're right that it's Giles keeping count of their time. Not that Buffy isn't, because she realized what he was talking about pretty quick, but I don't think she was expecting it to be such a big deal for Giles and it's probably making her melt, even if she is giving him a hard time. ;-)

I thought I'd commented but possibly I hit kudos on ao3 instead? Anyway, it's very cute and I'm always happy any when shorts prompts are used for fic of any length.

Glad you liked it! And that's good to hear because back when the prompt was "mask" I had a 100 word drabble that spiraled out of control. It's now over 1K and not done yet!
