Gift cards, Closures and My Craptastic Part in it all.

I have very mixed feelings on Gift Cards that have become so prolific in this day and age.  I have been known to use them in a gift basket to round out a themed gift, or to enclose in a card I am sending as a Pick-me-up letter.  So this arrives in my email box and I almost delete it as junk.  Then realise it has some merit and well... another ( Read more... )

You obviously did not check your facts too well. The mention of KB Toys is from 2003 when KB went into bankruptcy. KB emerged from bankruptcy in 2005 and as recent as this November, opened 30 new store. Before you continue play your craptastic part in the demise of the economy, please do check your facts....all of them.

It always amazes me how quickly cowards are willing to post insults so long as they can remain anonymous. The above could have been handled with a whole lot more civility and decorum. I can only assume the poster is a child of young to middling teens, deep in the throws of hormonal rebellion, willing to spray paint their spittle across public walls... but only so long as no one is looking so they won't have to face any kind of rebuttal or consequence.

No, I am not a coward, I am an employee of the company you have decided was closing 356 stores. It is not true, and if you were faced everyday with people blogging about the demise of your company, you would be a bit annoyed too. Too many of the supposed "closing stores" are misleading mentioned in your story. I challenge you to actually check your facts and then re-post your actual findings. I can bet you will find your list to be much shorter with the truth....

While the issue is I am sure.. " a bit annoying" to you, your mannerism in MY space was less than Polite. Happily I will ammend my FACTS... but you seem to have deliberately ignored the INTENT of the post and the topic of discussion. ETHICAL shopping.

I believe one of my future posts will be on Online Decorum and the Decline of Civility.

That link covers an explanation of the businesses in the list. Some have indeed performed the closures indicated. Others have not and have no future plans to 'close all stores'.
