Really rather glorious. You've almost made me like the movie. :)

Thank you! This song was a tough one for beat matching - I'm glad you think it worked!

Ohhhhhhhh ... that's wonderful. Holmes' frantic, racing thoughts and twitchyness, which can be harnessed and given purpose with a case, but they never go away. Watson, who can keep up with him but isn't driven like Holmes is, transforms things for him, making him smile. The flies are the perfect metaphor -- I understand them now, through your vid, in a way I didn't in the movie: Holmes can make order (has to or he'd chew himself up) through brains and discipline and intense concentration, but it's Watson who has the perspective to let them go.

I must go watch this over and over and over now.

Hee, I'm so glad you got the idea! I was so terrified it wasn't coming across - I frantically sent a draft to my beta last night and was just like ... what do you think this vid is about? So I'm delighted that it came through for you!

Isn't he awesome? I felt bad for butchering his song - I had to cut like 2 minutes or so out of it.

I think he's incredible, and I think a lot of his stuff CRIES OUT to be vidded. Really. I hear it in the middle of the night...

(Also, I'm tired having to introduce him as "the guy who wrote the Sarah McLaughlin song," so massive excitement to find another fan!)

This is a great vid, btw. Every time I watch it I feel like I catch something new. And--though I'm sure this wasn't your intent--I was mildly irritated by the stereotypical let's-play-Irish-music-while-people-fist-fight scenes in the field, and for me this vid feels a bit redemptive, because the music-film connection rests on something more substantial.

Hah! I didn't even know about that until recently - for me he's the guy who did the soundtrack to The Brothers McMullen, which I liked better than the movie, so I had to run out and buy a CD.

And I'm very pleased you liked the vid as well :-). I was aware of the stereotype Irish-music-for-boxing thing, but I confess I didn't specifically intend for this vid to be redemptive - I just liked the music for the this concept. But I'm glad you saw it that way!
