Rivers' Bridge

Upon doing some research I have found out that I have about 8 state parks within less than a two hour drive from my house. Today I took myself to one of the closets ones about 30 miles from my house. This park was Rivers' Bridge State Historic Site, which was the site a Civil War battle, one of the last Confederate stands against General Sherman' ( Read more... )

Eight state parks within a 2 hour drive? I'm a little jealous.

Then again, Rochester isn't lacking in places for photo opportunities :P

That's just South Carolina parks. I live near the Georgia border (and Savannah is an hour away) so I've Georgia state parks around Savannah as well. Charleston also is just an hour and half or so away, so I've the cities and Charleston and Savannah. Then there are also a couple National Monuments around too. . .and a National Park near the capital of Columbia which is a little over 2 hours away. . .

Thank you. . I was very satisfied with this picture. We have a lot of what are called blackwater rivers in this portion of the Southeast. And a majority of them are like this, since it's the tannins from the oaks, pines, and cypress which gives the blackwater rivers their name.
