Rivers' Bridge

Mar 29, 2008 18:01

Upon doing some research I have found out that I have about 8 state parks within less than a two hour drive from my house. Today I took myself to one of the closets ones about 30 miles from my house. This park was Rivers' Bridge State Historic Site, which was the site a Civil War battle, one of the last Confederate stands against General Sherman's march from Atlanta to Columbia. It was very quiet and serene, and ideal location for a short hike and day trip. Round trip, I think it took me 3 hours total, and that was also stopping at a CVS to pick up some things. As always, I had my camera with me and took an additional 24 pictures toward my Photo Project goal. With so many state parks near me, I do at least have some natural fodder for pictures. Also, I'm using the mapping attachment on Flickr so you all have a general idea where the pictures are being taken. I think some of my favorite pictures from this shoot are those of the Salkehatchie River. This one to the right is my favorite!!
