Given how absolutely mad large parts of her life had become during the past month, Annie was more than happy to seek out the company of those who were less involved in then others. It wasn't that she didn't want to be there for her nearest and dearest while they went through big, massive changes in their lives (both good and bad), but she needed a ( Read more... )

When the number of friends she has here has dwindled so considerably in the year and change she's been on the island, Lexie finds herself that much more attached to those she does have because of it. Annie easily counts among them. Smiling instinctively, she waves in turn, staying put for a few seconds until the distance between them is closed and she can greet Annie properly. "You were coming to look for me?" Lexie asks, oblivious to any questions directed at her in the face of something like that. She's glad for it, of course, as she tends to be when she's the person someone goes to, but between that and Annie's having said that things have been mad, she has to wonder if there might be something more going on. At least, based on the grin Annie wore, it doesn't seem to be anything medical. She's always glad for patients, but not at the expense of a friend's well-being. Nodding a little, she says, "What's going on?"

"I was!" Annie's enthusiasm was still dialed up a bit more than was actually proper and it took her a moment to dial it back down to a normal level. It was a bit harder than normal but she was able to contain herself. It wasn't as if there was any real reason for her to be so upbeat other than sheer force of will.

"Oh nothing serious. I just wanted to check in on my friends who aren't currently brooding or worried about their unborn children and that sort of thing. You know how it is."
