"I must be gone and live or stay and die"....

Seriously, I don't like scary movies. I don't. I do not have the nerves for it. I freak myself out. But then I saw one amazing one...Let the right one in. Some people have compared this movie to Twilight because it also has vampires and its a love story. But that's where it ends. For me Twilight is a soap opera and with lines like "You're my life ( Read more... )

That movie was on some list of best foreign films of 2008 or something. It's Swedish, isn't it?

Yes it is. But don't be afraid of that cause its oh so good. But if you prefer movies where everything is spelled out for you and the line between good and evil is always clear then, this movie is not for you...But I highly recommend it...

Sooo...what you said about the girl who plays bella...i kinda agree..she not very good...

and i am so putting this on my rent list and finding it...this looks awesome...and i couldn't help thinking what you said about this is just a teen romance blockbuster...i thought the movie could be sooo much more giving a great director and a good screenwriter...but this looks good...and i am soo going to try to get my hands on it! :)

I thought Twilight was kind of well..boring. There was nothing new to the whole vampire thingy. No angst, apart from the scene when he tells her what's its like to be a vampire. To me the movie was kind of like any other teen movie. Everyone was sooo pretty and of course all the guys fell in love with Bell on sight and wanted to ask her out.
I tried to read the book a couple a months back. I went into it thinking it was so good as everyone was saying. I never knew that it was a "teen-book" or whatever you might call it. Maybe I'm too picky but I found it too easy...

Maybe you're right, maybe Twilight would have been better with another director and screenwriter. Maybe they'll do better with the next one..You'll never know...

Do go and see "Let the right one in"...So beautiful shot and so much better than Twilight. You won't be sorry...

it will definitely be on my netflix list. i think it was bad direction and a bad screenplay....unless the producers were going for another teen movie...new director maybe great since catherine is not directing the next one....the book was an easy read good story line tho.

That's the same way i felt about Twilight.
There was no passion or love, it was just obsession.
Romeo and Juliet had passion, even if it was cheesy.

It was also a low budget flick, which obviously shows in the acting and the directing.

I don't even like the book series as well.

Thank you! Finally someone who isn't proclaiming that it's the best movie ever. It's a movie for teens, not for adults. And the storyline could be so good if it wasn't for the bad acting and the fact it had no passion as you said. That bothered me also. All this restraint and not showing any kind of emotions...

Yes, the books..or the book..I couldn't get through it..I was actually kind of thinking half way through the book...Is this supposed to be good? I don't get it...Still don't get it..

I don't like the writing style of Twilight- too much adjectives and adverbs. I think the reason why it is such a phenom would be the fact that it had vampires in it and a 'hot guy' was in it.

Another Reason why I dislike Twilight is the glammorization of vampires. Vampires are supposed to be these frightening creatures but in this movie they are portrayed as gorgeous, nice, and human?
