Roslin minificathon assignments

as of 30 or so minutes ago the assignments for the first getyourtoaster minificathon have gone out to all those who signed up.

as part of the assignment email, the community's rules and guidelines were listed, including a gas light addition. as a standard rule for all gyt rounds, if you default on a ficathon and fail to post your story before the deadline

I suspect, in part, many of those who voted aren't actually writers.

Or if they are, don't want to be tied to a short time to write in? Hrm. No idea.

I did not sign up, simply because I don't have any Roslin requests. However, if you do need a pinch-hitter, I can churn out 500 words (or more, depending on where the story decides to go).

As for voting, I voted for Ellen Tigh. I can write about Kara Thrace anytime I want. Ellen is a little less represented.

...and I'm apparently very formal and stilted today. I blame the cold.

I'm pretty sure that, yeah, most of the people who filled out the poll aren't actually all that keen on participating as writers. which is, hmm, maybe a thing that needs to be worked on. or something. we'll have to see, I guess.

I was very much 500 words in 3 weeks, no problem, even with my other ficathons due. Then I came down with the plague, so all personal problems and other commitments I'm worried about on this end. Though I'll definitely be reading and it's possible that I'd be able to write a back up if needed.

I didn't sign up, because the sign up post never appeared on my f'list :( My lj keeps missing entire chunks of posts, and this was one I didn't realise I'd missed :(

aw poo! I was worried about the signup period being too short, especially with this being the first round. any way stragglers could still get in, even if it's just meesh exchanging requests with aeonian (who didn't sign up, which is not acceptable, and I'm going have a TALK with her about that)? anyway, I suspect the number of participants will pick up as we move into the summer (also why I didn't vote for Roslin this time -- I was thinking strategically!).

I was actually thinking about that. if you can get aeonian to sign up in the next day or two, I can probably find a way to switch a few requests around (one of the perks of knowing most all of the participants pretty well, i should think). and, if you know of anyone else who was interested but didn't sign up, let them know that I'll take latecomers, as long as they're in by Wednesday evening.

even if not, I'm going to let meesh jump in if she still wants to.

Ooh, pinch hitters! If you need one, I would totally love to be one, just because, well, you know how sad I am that I have to miss the Laura Roslin round :)

Also, I filled in the poll as a reader based on what character I'd like to read first up. I guess others did that too maybe?

Deadline fell during comps. I'll probably just be reading at least 'til those are out of the way.
