At least I don't have to go all the way back to first principles... but I am going to have to go pretty far back, to figure out where I started getting things wrong. I've held off on picking apart the book too much, just been identifying the parts I can tease out seperately, but there's some things that fit together in ways I don't understand. Sal has been a warlock and a mage, and yeah, she has a well-developed snark reflex. Warlocks who think that their demons are their "special friends" and mages who "have difficulty controlling their magic" are her personal favorites.
