My answer is easy: dawna! She's the first person who ever convinced me to do anything in a Public Support category, and she hand-held me through the entire process from I2 (Abuse, etc) to SH in Comms. She was a fantastic mentor, and she showed me that Public Support was not as scary or hard as I'd made it out to be :) I picked her over all of the other very influential and awesome people in Support because she was one of the first people to coax me out of Abuse and she was the one person who made it stick :)

I don't think I would be in Support if it wasn't for kamara. She was my first Support-person friend and put up with my bugging when I just started... and then she quit (what does that say about me?! :P) Kama's always been around for me to talk to her and if it wasn't for her, I don't think I would have come back because I wouldn't have had much of a reason to stay on IRC.

I chose her because although she wasn't that instrumental in training me, or encouraging me. But just being a friend, she showed me how awesome Support people are.

Thank you. I certainly tried to be a good influence and to encourage good volunteers like you to keep at it through the frustrating parts ( ... )

Gosh, so many people! And so little time right now for me to give detailed explanations, since I have to leave for work shortly. ;_;

The first two who come to mind are right and leora, who were both my mentors and handled a good chunk of my G/unk reviews between them. They provided lots of guidance and encouragement, and I don't think I could have made it to G/unk SH without them. <3

Also, the Comms and Web admins (past and present, up until I became inactive): dawna, dalryaug, burr86, afuna, opal1159, coffeechica... and ESPECIALLY jennifer and idonotlikepeas. You all have been amazing to work with, and I learned so much from all of you. I couldn't have asked for finer admins in these two cats. <333333

And a few others: snarkbite for her knowledge and helpfulness through instructive and very entertaining ICs, pauamma for his technical knowledge and encouragement, the_cynic also for his knowledge and helpfulness and for being a source of commiserative support, isabeau for her gloriously beautiful answers that I learned so much from, and, um... dang, I know I'm forgetting a bunch of other people. D: If I think of them later, I ( ... )

I don't know. When I first started support, deadmantalks and remark AKA Ashleigh reached out to me and became the first people I was really friendly with in support.

The most influential people on my success, though, would have to be the early inhabitants of #lj_schools. Back in '5 and '6 when it first started, I mean. That's basically what kept me in support - Amanda, Dawna, Toph, and the rest of the #lj_sch crew were absolutely amazing.

On an individual level, Abe did a lot for me when I first started support, and I've always tried to emulate christine as a supporthelp and admin. My awesome co-admin dawna was always supportive and awesome, and my other co-admin dalryaug did a ton of my reviews when I first started.

So, in other words, a lot of people are awesome and I can't choose one.

ETA: That was basically about the people my first time around in support.

The second time around, the most influential person is definitely intrepia. We motivate each other to do well in other categories, we review each other, we come up with privchanges together, etc. Connie is awesome.
