New Day, Old Excuse

So it's once again past midnight, quite a bit, actually. Fine: so those of you on the east coast are already awakening for another day of work; I have yet to become one with my beckoning bed. Eh -

We had to wait a week to see it because I couldn't take the Pook, so I wasn't able to weigh in. I'm going to need to see it again on a bigger screen before I can be really opinionated, but I thought it was awesome. Still the Batman of comics rather than... something else. Heath Ledger's Joker was the Joker I know and despise, rather than Jack Nicholson chewing up scenery, or the Joker of cartoon versions of Batman.

I could have used a couple more scenes of Bruce Wayne shirtless, though. That's a serious flaw.

True. I am enjoying Christian Bale's turn as Batman more than I have his predecessors, bar none.

As for the Joker, never have partcularly cared for the character in any incarnation. That's life.

Shall continue to await more inspired thoughts... ;->

I think Heath's performance was stunning - in particular his delivery of the line 'no, I'm not' in response to being called crazy was sublime. But I'm not much of a critic so I'm not going to say much.

Interesting... sublime, you say? Clearly I shall have to review the film, preferably in the air-conditioned comfort of a local multiplex. Thank you for the incentive and the excuse. ;->

Still awaiting you on Facebook in some incarnation or another - we've started blogging there, you know.

Eh, well I think so. But we don't always agree on everything :)
