Well, I think you can make up whatever rule you want! I want 91500 words of fiction but if I were to count my journal entries I am pretty sure I would way more than double my word counts. *snerk* DO IT!!! Write!!!
*hugs*

Happy New Year! ♥

What a great challenge. 250 words a day seems really reasonable and yet it's surprising how much it adds up to be.

a few years ago I read the blog of a writer who invited everyone to join in and write along with her and the goal was only 250 words a day (roughly one page) because it is a very reachable goal but if you do it every day it really adds up and because it is easy to reach it is also easy to surpass which can really make you feel good. The other instruction was NOT to berate yourself for not reaching the goal or to try to 'catch up', just skip the days you have to and do the 250 again when you can. That has also helped a lot because the one time I tried the 50,000 words in a month thing I failed mostly because as soon as I fell behind on my daily goal I was sunk and hated it and myself. This is much more relaxed and the first year I set this goal I passed the total halfway through the year. I didn't last year, but I did at least reach the goal total, so I feel ok with that. My secret goal is to surpass my yearly wordcount from year before last, that would really thrill me to pieces, but I am moving this year and that is going to ( ... )
