Sekhmet (2005-2010)

Earlier this evening, I took in both my cats, Nibo & Sekhmet to work so I could test them for FeLV and FIV. Nibo came up negative. Sekhmet, on the other hand came up positive for FIV. I was devastated. I knew her escapes to the outside world would get her in trouble, but I was more concerned about the tick related fatal disease, cytaux, not FIV

I am thankful she shared our lives as long as she did. She was truly the sweetest girl. I wish I could have been there with you when she passed. I hope she's now at peace. It's been hard to watch her these last few months, but through it all she was always a trooper and never lost her sweet and loving personality. I'll watch over her grave and take care of her, don't worry. :'(

Thanks... I know you would have wanted to be there... I just know that her skin and bladder issues would have worsened due to the stress of my move and her poor immune system. I couldn't handle seeing her decline... now she is no longer hurting. She was sweet all the way until the end as I talked to her and told her I was sorry and I loved her. :'(

Oh, I wouldn't have wanted you to wait. I'm glad she's no longer suffering, I just hate you had to be alone and I couldn't be there. :'( She was the sweetest of girls. Now though she's at peace and I'm glad she's not going to suffer anymore. Keep me posted about Nibo and let me know he's OK.
