Here's the rundown:

-Jessica Verday wrote a short story for an anthology at Running Press. Her G-rated story involved two boys in love with each other.
-The anthology editor Trisha Telep rejected the story because of the homosexual content and requested Verday change one of the characters to female ( Read more... )

On one hand, I'm sorry for the authors who were sticking with the anthology but aren't getting that paycheck. On the other hand, maybe this teaches that editor a valuable lesson? One would only hope. I suspect that for her, this will still have far-reaching effects... authors won't be as quick to send her stories in the future.

wow. Some of what the publisher said started to sound reasonable....then he messed up by inferring that Verday was Accusatory....I read her post, and it didn't seem that inflammatory to me, simply matter of fact. He does make good points in the end though - they should be more clear, upfront and available.
