Here's the rundown:
-Jessica Verday wrote a short story for an anthology at Running Press. Her G-rated story involved two boys in love with each other.
-The anthology editor Trisha Telep
rejected the story because of the homosexual content and requested Verday change one of the characters to female.
-Verday refused to make the changes and pulled her story, then blogged about her reasons for doing so.
-A number of other authors, having heard about what happened, also decided to pull their stories, not wanting to associate themselves with blatant bigotry.
-Running Press
made a statement of fail trying to make Verday out to be a troublemaker and claiming they were in no way promoting homophobia, although they had no intention of letting Telep go.
-Finally, finally, official word comes out that the Wicked Pretty Things anthology
has been cancelled.
