You know how there are some things you never really grow out of? You might grow away from them but never really out of them? For me, one of these things is the very first honest-to-god, non-corrupted anime series I was interested in, commonly known as The Vision of Escaflowne.
I'll tell you now, I loved this series. I adored it. I wrote really bad

Also, have you ever seen Nescaflowne? It's a parody of The Escaflowne: Girl in Gaia movie done by Studio Sokodei, if I remember correctly. Hilarious stuff.
I liked the series a LOT better than I liked the movie, but the movie had awesome animation nonetheless. Escaflowne (as in, the guymelef) reminded me of an EVA-unit from Neon Genesis Evangelion in the movie tho...
And the dub was hilarious for its badness, and I think I probably cried more watching Esca than I did any other series. That said, I think all my Esca episodes are age-old fansubs from back in the day... probably in Real format, with my luck. Hah!

I think I use the term "OTP" too loosely sometimes. But I actually meant one of my favourite (utterly cracktastic) ships: Dilandau/Celena (cuz Dilandau's narcissism will get there eventually XDDD). Re-watching, I'm totally shipping Van/Hitomi again. Of course, it's canon so YAY! And I'm also secretly holding on to my ship of Allen/Millerna >.> For reasons unknown Killers quote!
Speaking of rewatching, taking in the show as an adult (omg, I can't believe I just called myself that! D:) is so different from watching it as a kid because I'm realizing how much I missed the first time around. The subtlety and sensuality of it is mindblowing. And did you know? There's more to Escaflowne than pretty boys animation? XD ( ... )

And then I come here, and your first entry is about mutha-effing Escaflowne. And you've got a Ludwig Kakumei icon.
You're pretty much my new favourite person ever now.
(Enjoy the box set. It's SO damn worth it.)

For our mutual admiration society: you've spotted the LK icon AND have Vampire Knight on you interests list. To add to that, your journal is named after possibly one of the best songs ever... I am muchly impressed.
On such clearly pre-ordained auspicious terms: friends? :)

Kaori Yuki at least partially owns my literary soul, and Matsuri Hino is a tease of a mangaka who who loves to make me wibble inappropriately on a regular basis. And Nine Days makes me a happy, happy woman. That we share these three things is clearly a sign from the heavens.
Fate cannot be denied. Friends, for sure.
