i've posted three stories for the apocalyptothon. which makes this the post-mortem, i suppose.

overall: wow, do i ever love ending the world. i mean, i knew i liked doing it when i wrote sailor, but this was a whole new level.

so. i got five prompts to work from.
my prompts, and what i thought about my prompts. )

I've watched very little SG:A, but I read these anyway and wow. I like all three. A lot. The nanovirus one has a great rhythm to it. Each one feels kind of like a kick to the chest, in that good good good way that apocalyptic fiction is supposed to be.

thank you! so much. i've read fanfic without any background in the source material, and i know getting praise under those conditions really means something. i am fondest of the nanovirus one right now - i think because it's been the longest finished and i have already got through the month of hating it.

i love apocalyptic fiction. which might show.

Again: whichever way they slung (ship/genwise) they were great to read. Also, very interesting to read the above, especially that whole "trying to write a, ended up writing b" thing that comes along with writing. I'm sure a lot of people get that way, but sometimes there's that intense sense of ARGH, NO, WHAT NOW WITH THESE WHATEVERS when you're reading it back. It's all good, sho'nuff, but sometimes you wonder where the other fic went off to play and why you can't be there with it.

I was interrupted whilst reading the tail end of your post and thought you were talking about lollipops and unicorns invading Atlantis. No, I don't know either.

i may possibly overanalyse every aspect of my life. one day i will get explosions! and self-mutilation!

okay, a lollipop-unicorn invasion would be creepy as hell. worse than clowns. shep would be a total wreck.

i have your fic open! i am excited to read it! i haven't read it yet. :(

Great things to aspire to, naturally.

I know, could you imagine? "Candy floss has infiltrated the main systems. Complete failure imminent!" And the unicorns are charging around impaling themselves on things. (OK, this is ridiculous: I now feel bad for the unicorns. Sigh, brain. Sigh.)

Heh, it's not that exciting, really.

as you do not generally red mcshep, you have probably not read this gun's for hire, which has a scene where ronon talks about how badass unicorns are because they have that big dangerous horn and can run really fast. also, big teeth.

i am sure it is! as soon as i catch up on comments, that's where i'm headed. none of this self-effacing nonsense!

really? i mean, i will. hee. kakos is super-short (and is also the weakest of the three.)

hey, thanks for not nagging me about that fullmetal alchemist post. or the book of the long sun book report. honest, they are both on the way. which is to say, they are both partially written in private post form.

re: fullmetal. i forgot you were the test case! listen, you need to tell me if i should or shouldn't, because jenny just started reading some manga & i have to keep up.

re: long sun. you should let me know, so i can tune my recomendation skills!
