Mal's and Jayne's fortunes are the ones that made me pause. I like how you worked them in and rounded out the fullness of the telling.

Every time I tried to write a fortune for Zoe it felt wrong, so I just decided to have Jayne interrupt since I was impatient to get to his anyways.

Very nice! I like the playful banter and how it almost covers over the seriousness of what the fortune teller is saying. And the way Zoe doesn't have a fortune - 'cause in some ways, she'll be the most hurt of all.

Yeah, I couldn't write Zoe's fortune, it was Kaylee's birthday and I didn't want get too angsty. I figured it wasn't too out of character for Jayne to interupt, gentleman though he is.

Nicely done. It makes you wonder if Book would be an influence for Jayne becoming a Shepherd or if Jayne will simply raise sheep & die quietly out in some pasture.

I think Book was a big influence on Jayne and I think if he found the calling, he'd enjoy preaching.
