In my experiences, I have to admit it's true.

I think the reasons why people (not just women) find it attractive is it shows a few very important things about yourself:

1) You know who you are, what you want, and you're willing to do it.
2) You do #1 well.
3) You are confident in who you are (very VERY important)
4) You're up front, great sense of humor, really push people!

It's a great thing. And yes, it will come out no matter what, so might as well push it.

For me transitioning at work, for instance, I had no problems at all. I even wrote a FAQ about questions I knew people wanted to ask but couldn't. I just got out there and it was a great experience. If you're comfortable with it, people are wonderfully supportive. But they also smell fear.
