It's 94 degrees outside right now, says Weather Underground, and the humidity, while not as bad as it could be, is enough to make it even more miserable. This is one of the few days when I will gladly hole up in an air-conditioned room and be only grateful for it. Heh. It was really nice weather when I was there for Millicon... I'm just as glad we avoided what you're getting now, though.

To be fair, weather like this isn't unheard of in a Boston summer. Usually we get a week or two (or maybe three) of it, scattered throughout the summer in small miserable heat waves that revert to saner weather soon. I just always hate it when I'm in the middle of it.

I've always thought of New England as one of those areas with intense, season-swinging weather. Humidity in summer + snow in winter is pretty huge to me. Am I totally off-base with that?

No, you're not. And we do have pretty extreme season changes. It's just that New England summers usually have weather like this in a couple of heatwaves of a few days or a week, scattered throughout the summer, and then revert to the much nicer high 70s or low 80s that are more standard. So, for all my complaining, having weather like this for a day or four isn't especially unexpected. It's just miserable to be in the middle of, and makes me whiny.

Understandable! I whine at the low 80s. :D I think I spent every day of the few east coast summers I've had grumbling about humidity.
