I read about this. It makes me feel despair. For a moment, I guess...but then also, aren’t they really just showing their asses? There are only 70 of them, after all. Sometimes I do the math and remember “there are more of us than there are of them.” More people filled with love, more people who support people of all kinds. Yeah. I’ll focus on that.
I'm not saying majority support makes a thing right. I'm saying that majority support for a thing I believe to be right helps keep the despair away, when the minority is in power and really awful.
Personally? I could a FLYING FUCK about who is gay and who is NOT. BUT gay men are fucking hilarious! It is a HOOT when gay men pretend to be my boyfriend!
It sounds like there is a story you're not telling!!
TELL ME!!
Please?
A vacuum salesman came by a couple weeks ago. Talked to me about a house he recently visited with "two FLAMING gay guys" and how he himself had been a little taken aback. I decided it was a great time to complain about "flaming straight people" and how I can't look out my window without seeing straight couples holding hands or go to a restaurant without seeing straight people boldly canoodling in the corner, as if they had every right in the world to be open about their feelings with each other.
The guy laughed, "Hmm! Flaming straight people?! I never thought of it like that! But... yeah! You're RIGHT! Ha! Flaming straight people! Being publicly... straight!"
"Yeah!" I rejoined, "As if they had every right in the world to be who they are! It's... EVERYWHERE, and... distracting, really."
You'd have to point out my spelling error specifically... sometimes I type phonetically. Luckily I DO know the difference between hear and here, or two, too, and to.. or there, their, and they're... but my fingers sometimes run away with me!
