My friend, to celebrate Pride Month
engaged the local library
to host Drag Queen Story Hour
and she is quite surprised
that a group called 500 Mothers
(which has about 70 members)
is protesting
calling all forms of drag
"misogynistic blackface".
Apparently the social push
for girls to be ultra-feminine
and sexualized
comes inherently from Drag culture,
didn't you KNOW?
At least that is the protest leader's headline.
It couldn't possibly be the fact
that the protest leader
also happens to think that gay people
are sexual predators
and gay culture
to be perverted
and unsuitable to be around children.

My friend is a biological woman
who dresses in drag
as a biological woman
(although sometimes
*admittedly*
as a biological sea-witch).
She is also not gay.
She's not straight, either.
She's asexual.
She does not have sexual feelings.
She does not *have sex*.
She has never *had sex*.

WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!

INTO ONE ENTERTAINING HOUR

Due to death threats
my friend has been offered a police escort
so she can safely read a children's book
to the assembled families
at the local library.
O yeah... its the White Christian Majority
who are under attack in America.
Uh-huh.
THEY are the ones being threatened!
Gendered people
dressed in gendered ways
(that may or may not match their biological sex)
volunteering to read books
to children in the company of their parents
at the local public library!

They're gonna host a CRAFT afterwards, too!
