The presence of a non-slip mat helps a lot. I wouldn't dare attempt it without that, seeing as a slip on those ice-tiles is what caused this mess in the first place.
Problem is the mat doesn't have enough holes to let the water drain properly. In some ways it isn't a problem because it allows me to wash the soap of the bottom of my foot before I put weight on it again, thus reducing slippage.
Tonight my knee is feeling quite good/strong. Not as much of the "bowl of a jelly for a knee joint" sensation.
Oh he's got non-slip painted surfaces, a permanent chair, rails... but that's an improvement over being bed-bound. And I appreciate not having to wash his feet!
I've been meaning to ask about the original accident. So it was a slip in the bathroom? Nasty. Lucky you didn't get your head - or did you?
