--------------------------------

He walked to the table and saw a note beside the glass of water. He picked it up and slowly read.

Hey stupid,

I prepared your breakfast…He reads. You should be thankful since I don’t cook at all.

Aish, look what you did, I now have burns in my fingers. He smiles as he reads further.

Anyway, I’ll be back by dinner.

Get well soon, stupid.

~Kyu

And there he saw his medicine right beside his meal and he smiles widely, feeling very grateful.

He sat down and decided to start eating his breakfast before it gets colder, because it’s already cold. Tasting it, he smiles eventually at the thought of Kyuhyun getting pissed while cooking inside the kitchen. Just imagining him makes him giggle. Yet, looking around, he felt so downtrodden.

He slowly ate his meal, thinking over things that might happen and might change their lives.  It’s not impossible that everything might turn out the way he had imagined it would be, them, ending up as related and being brothers. If it’s true, he wouldn’t know how he would be able to tell Kyuhyun. He’s trying so hard to get emotionally attached to him right now yet he always wants to be close to him.

He slowly dropped his spoon beside his plate, losing all his appetite. He wanted to get out of this mess as soon as possible. He wanted to, in the first place, but something’s just stopping him. He might not understand it but his heart seems to. The only question now is,

Why the heck do I get so affected with the thought of me and Kyu being related?

He would’ve been able to answer it on his own but he doesn’t want to nor know it.

“Achoo!” He sneezes and his thoughts faded away. “Damn this cold…” He sniffs as he went to grab some face towel and blow from his nose, he later coughed. “Aghh…I feel so weak right now…” He says, touching his forehead and breathing calmly.

Kyuhyun was forever busy, he could tell himself. Having to sign piled up papers on top of his desk makes him want to run away back home. “Sir, are you not gonna sign them?” His secretary asks.

Kyuhyun shook his head. “Can’t you tell?”

“But sir,” His secretary insists. “You have to sing these all today,”

Kyuhyun sighs. “Yeah yeah whatever,” He says, gesturing for this secretary to leave his office in which his secretary did immediately.

Then someone came barging in right after. “KYUHYUN!!!” Victoria yells infront of Kyuhyun who was near exasperating.

“What now?”

“Who don’t I see Sungmin here???” She asks impatiently. “Hey you two didn’t break up right???”

“May I ask why you are here?”

“You don’t need to know!” She replies back, yelling. “Where’s Sungmin???”

“He’s back in the mansion Victoria,” He says, leaning to his seat. “I think he’s having a cold now,”

“What?!” Victoria exclaims. “Then why are you here??? You should be taking care of him! You irresponsible fiancé,” She adds.

“I have work to do,”

“Oh really?” She asks suspiciously, peeking unto Kyuhyun’s desk and papers. “Like you’re doing something there,” She says, chuckling. “Oh Kyuhyun, you're just bringing your ass here, you’re not even working, you just instruct and direct,”

“Isn’t that work?”

“That’s a bit lazy to be honest,” Victoria says, crossing her arms. “Oh well, if you don’t want to take care of him, I’ll go…and bring Ryeowook with me,” She adds, smiling widely and giggling.

“So that’s why you came here,” Kyuhyun says, nodding. “Ryeowook,”

“No its not!” Victoria yells. “Now buh-bye!” She waves, running out immediately and slamming the door. Kyuhyun was left sighing and chuckling.

Sungmin lazily walked out of the room, bringing his blanket around him as he walked to the door, answering whoever was bothering or visiting him. When he opened the door and saw Victoria, he wasn’t shocked a bit. Well he was but he wasn’t in the condition to jump and yell. “Are you okay?” Victoria asks after hugging Sungmin so tightly.

Sungmin nods his head. “Yeah, nothing worse,”

“Minnie hyung, do you want me to make soup?” Ryeowook asks, settling down the sofa.

“No, its fine whatever is there,” Sungmin replies weakly, slowly lying on the sofa ans making himself comfortable. Ryeowook then walked over him and touched his forehead.

“Hyung, you’re burning!” He exclaims and Victoria rushed over.

“What? How worse is his cold?” Victoria asks Ryeowook, also touching Sungmin’s neck with the back of his hand.

“This isn’t cold, its flu!” Ryeowook yells, alarmed. “Minnie hyung has flu,” He tells Victoria worriedly. “Wait, I’m gonna go make some soup for him,” He then walked immediately inside the kitchen and Victoria could hear him cooking in a fast pace and hurried face.

And Victoria was left with Sungmin, lying on the sofa. “You’re seriously ill,” She says, sitting down at the floor to lever with Sungmin’s face. “Does it hurt?” Sungmin turned to her slowly and glared. “Yeah yeah, I know,” She continues, chuckling.

Sungmin shifted weakly and slowly like slow motion effect as how Victoria puts it. “You really are sick,” She says again, feeling Sungmin’s neck. “Do you have a thermometer here?” She asks and Sungmin nodded, pointing at the kitchen, then coughs. It took long to process properly what Sungmin was actually getting at. She then stood up and walked to the kitchen, greeting Ryeowook as she searches the cabinets.

“What’re you looking for Victoria?” Ryeowook asks glancing at her, still busy preparing Sungmin’s soup.

“Thermometer,” Victoria replies, not being able to look at Ryeowook for she was busy herself, opening each cabinet. “I have to atleast know his temperature,”

“Oh, yeah,”

“Do you know where it is?” Victoria then asks, turning to Ryeowook who was keeping his focus on the soup he’s making on the stove.

“Hmmm…no but,” Ryeowook thought for a moment, tilting his head up. “I think,” He continues, turning to Victoria. “It’s inside the first aid kit?” He guesses and Victoria looked for the first aid kit immediately.

Sungmin coughed and coughed, feeling his stomach and lungs clenching painfully at every shot. Oh hoe he wished he didn’t get a flu. Just then, Victoria arrived with a thermometer in her hand, holding in wrongly. Girl doesn’t know how to hold a thermometer, Sungmin thought, great.

“I know I’m not good with this but I remember my mom always checking my temperature, now open your mouth oppa,” She ordered and Sungmin opened his mouth, that’s what he was supposed to do anyway. Victoria gently inserted the thermometer inside Sungmin’s mouth and Sungmin closed it immediately. “There,” She says, standing straight and smiled contented with her little deed.

Sungmin laid there for long minutes until Victoria went back and took the thermometer, wide-eyes and dropped-jaw, exclaiming at Sungmin’s temperature. “39 degrees? Oh, my heavens,”

Ryeowook then walked over with a tray of soup in his hand, looking over the thermometer. “Sungmin hyung, how did you get so sick?” He asks, slowly bending down to place the tray on top of the circular glass table.

“Rain…” Sungmin answers weakly, almost a whisper and he coughs again.

“Really? I love rains,” Ryeowook says, gesturing for Sungmin to sit up so he could eat properly.

“Yeah, rains, flu, lovely,” He says sarcastically as he took the bowl of soup in his hands, gently blowing it and slowly stuffing some inside his mouth. He learned to never let other people feed him.

“Sorry about that,” Ryeowook apologizes, unnecessarily, again.

“Oh shit!” Victoria exclaims while looking at her cellphone. “Guys, I’m afraid I have to go,” She says, turning to the both of them and quickly standing up. “This stupid…stupid is stupid!” She complains as she ran to the door, quickly putting on her stilettos. “Sorry again, and get well soon Sungmin oppa!” She yells and waves before running out carefully so she won’t trip on her stilettos.

“That was fast,” Ryeowook says, chuckling. “How’s the soup Sungmin hyung?” He asks, immediately turning to Sungmin who was still eating slowly.

“You seriously don’t need to ask,” Sungmin says, smiling. “Hey, your cooking is better now, its because of Yesung?”

“Hyung!”

“What?” Sungmin asks, laughing weakly. “I have the right to know…wait, I already knew,”

“You’re a creeper hyung, a creeeeeeperrrr…” Ryeowook emphasizes as he shifts positions on the floor to feel more comfortable.

“Oh, is that so? Then I’m honored,” Sungmin joked, quickly finishing off his soup.

“You eat so fast hyung,”

“Is it obvious I’m hungry?”

“No, not really,” Ryeowook says, chuckling. He took the bowl from Sungmin’s hand and carefully placed it back on the tray while Sungmin was slowly lying down on the sofa. “I think you need to sleep,”

“Yeah,” Sungmin replies, smiling. “Thanks Wookie,”

“What for?”

“For dropping by,”

“Oh, you’re welcome,” Ryeowook says, giving him a warm smile as he hopes to fall asleep immediately. He could hear the sounds of Ryeowook standing up, carrying the tray and walking back to the kitchen as his footsteps starts to fade. After he couldn’t hear anything anymore and assumes Ryeowook was busy inside the kitchen. He’d make a good wife if he was a girl, Sungmin thought, if he was in my position, he might’ve done better than me in pretending to be Kyuhyun’s fiancée, he adds.

He continued listening to everything around him. He could hear the chirping of the birds loudly, outside the windows, he can hear the rustling of the trees with the winds bouncing, he can hear nature, and he loved it, it was peaceful; with that, he fell asleep, drifting in his dreams.

The next thing he heard was the sound of someone’s breathing close to him when he had gone back from his dreams, from his sleep. He slowly opened his eyes and though his vision was a bit blurry he recognized the figure in front of his eyes. “How are you feeling?” Someone asked.

“Kyu?” He voiced out a cold whisper and it worried Kyuhyun on how resting doesn’t do any advances to Sungmin’s recovery.

“Yeah it’s me,” He says, placing his hand on Sungmin’s forehead and then rustled his hair. “Aish, you’re really sick; did you take your medicine?” He continues, sitting properly on the little space near the edge of the sofa. Sungmin didn’t answer and Kyuhyun for sure knew what that meant. “You’re really a stupid kitty, wait here,” was the last thing he heard from Kyuhyun as he watched Kyuhyun walking to the kitchen.

He looked up front, up to the ceiling and stared at it. He felt his legs getting numb and so he tried to move them slowly. Kyuhyun went back with the medicines on one hand and a glass of water on the other. Sungmin squinted at him and slowly sat up only to be surprised with Kyuhyun quickly walking over and help him by pushing his back so he won’t have to exert much effort. “Thanks,” He says.

“Here, drink it,” Kyuhyun says impatiently and instead of chuckling over or starting an argument, again, Sungmin decided to just take the pills. “You feel better?”

“I might,” Sungmin replies, smiling and giving the water back. He looked around and couldn’t make up if the atmosphere is morning or night so he decided to ask. “What time is it?”

“Its 3 am already Sungmin,” Kyuhyun says, completely aware of Sungmin’s shocked expression. “You’ve been asleep for 10 hours or so,” He continues.

“I was asleep for that long?!” Sungmin exclaims, coughing afterwards. “What time did you got home?” He asks, noticing Kyuhyun’s casual attire.

“By dinner, just in time when Yesung was shoving Ryeowook out,”

“Wait, Yesung did what?”

“He found out you have a flu and so he quickly shoved Ryeowook out, he’s scared Ryeowook might get it,” He explains. “That overprotective bastard,” He adds with a ‘tsk’.

“It’s my first time seeing someone as overprotective as you before,”

“Huh?”

“Remember? When you yelled at me because I asked Ryeowook to cook something he’s allergic to…”

Kyuhyun tilted his head then looked back to Sungmin when he finally remembered. “Oh yeah, at that time I didn’t know you so you can’t blame me,”

“I’m not blaming you; just that…Ryeowook is so loved, now that I think about it…” He says in a low tone, slowly bowing his head. “I wish I can be loved like that too,” He adds, getting a bit more emotional. It’s rather his sickness is causing all his emotions to show off but Kyuhyun took sympathy of him.

“You’re right, but that’s because he’s so kind, sometimes it’s unbelievable,”

“You miss him, don’t you?”

“Maybe, I haven’t been with him for quite a while now,” He says and Sungmin knows it’s the truth.

Maybe what his doing is wrong and now isn’t the right time but he wanted to make the first move as soon as possible and that is making Kyuhyun switch his attention to Ryeowook other than him. It’s his way of slowly getting detached from Kyuhyun, and like that, maybe finding out the truth wouldn’t hurt so much anymore.

“But you’re different, Sungmin,” He continues. “You easily get fascinated by simple things and it’s amazing how you make it look like it’s exotic and although sometimes you are selfish, you’re selfishness involves other people, also, you’re utterly stupid,” He chuckles and added “it’s ridiculous,”

“Thank you,” Sungmin says, and he wasn’t joking at all just by the look of it. “It’s a relief…you know me that much,” He liked it but it wasn’t good, he thinks, that is.

“No, you just show it naturally,” He says, standing up and Sungmin didn’t even notice how Kyuhyun was suddenly sitting beside him. “You need to rest in our room,”

“Wait, where’s Kibum?”

“He’s already sleeping, he went home like 30 minutes ago,” Kyuhyun informs, flattening his shirt. “He was sleepy, I told him you’re fine, he kinda…freaked out,” He continues, holding his chuckle.

“Poor Kibum,”

“Yeah, he freaked out because he won’t be able to rape you,” Kyuhyun says, snarling.

“Stop that Kyu,” Sungmin says, slowly standing up only to lose balance out of dizziness but was caught in Kyuhyun’s broad arms immediately, it may look like he’s taking advantage of it but his knees were really getting weaker by the second.

Kyuhyun sighed and decided to carry poor little kitty since he had no choice. He gently pushed him up and then turned his back to Sungmin, kneeling and gesturing him to cling to his neck then he slowly stood up, carrying Sungmin at his back. Sungmin didn’t protest; he probably realized he doesn’t have the strength to pick a fight with Kyuhyun now. “I should be happy you’re lighter now, which means you lost weight,” He says and Sungmin smiled. “But I’d rather carry a heavier one than someone who lost weight because he’s sick,” He continues and Sungmin frowns.

“Sorry Kyu,” Sungmin apologizes, clinging tighter where Kyuhyun could almost feel his slow breathing.

They arrived slowly at the room and Kyuhyun walked over to the bed, almost tripping since he can’t reach the lights switch while carrying Sungmin but he managed to lie Sungmin gently on the bed. He let Sungmin shift positions to feel more comfortable as he turned on the lights. “Rest stupid kitty,” He says as Sungmin turned his pale face to him.

“Where are you going?”

“Huh?” He stared at him for a sec then continued. “I’m not going anywhere, now go back to sleep,” He says, switching the lights off.

Kyuhyun stayed awake for a while, his little lampshade beside him while he was reading something. He can’t possibly sleep beside Sungmin since flu is contagious, he might get it as well so he decides to just lie on the floor and sleep on the couch inside the room when he’ll feel sleepy.

What’s bothering him was Sungmin’s coughing. He knows Sungmin’s eyes are closed but he’s always coughing so he believes he hasn’t fully slept yet and, add the shifting of positions every minute. “Sungmin,” He calls and Sungmin didn’t respond. “You can’t sleep? How painful is it?”

He waited for more than a minute, staring at Sungmin’s back when Sungmin finally decided to turn his position, facing Kyuhyun, his eyes looking at him, weak and sleepy. “I don’t know,” He mouthed. “I’m sleepy but this flu won’t let me sleep,”

Kyuhyun thought of than one method Ryeowook used to do to him in times when he’s stressed and wants to sleep but he can’t, bringing him a nice bottle of hot milk, but that won’t work anyway since he’s dealing with someone sick right now. Then he thought of another method Ryeowook also did, stroking his hair. Then he thought again, flu is contagious, one close contact is enough for him already, if he stayed too long beside Sungmin he might really get it the next day.

Sungmin waits for something, he doesn’t know what, but something to make him fall asleep, as soon as possible, as peaceful as possible. “Sorry, I can’t help you with that,” Kyuhyun says blatantly but he felt guilty. “I thought of those methods Ryeowook used to do to make me sleep, but it won’t work on you, especially now when you’re sick,”

Sungmin sighs. “You can sing to me,”

Kyuhyun wants to decline, but Sungmin made it sound like he was gonna die or it’s his last wish so rejecting him will eat his body with guilt.

♫ Saying that this moment is the last to you whom I loved so much… ♫ With that, he continued.

♫ Even if you try to turn it back… ♫

♫ Even if you hold onto me crying… ♫

♫ I was the one who said no and bid our farewell…♫

He stopped at the sight and notice of Sungmin deep in sleep. He was surprised; he actually put someone to sleep. Not to mention, peacefully. He smiled but he felt cold suddenly so decided to get on the couch, put a blanket on and try to sleep. That is, after he sneezed.

Sungmin woke up the next day, feeling fresh and unbelievably better, his fever went down though he still feels hot in his body with the cold atmosphere. He wouldn’t have noticed Kyuhyun on the couch if he didn’t hear him cough. He slowly approached Kyuhyun, dizziness still hanging over him, and at instinct felt Kyuhyun’s forehead. “Oh, great,” He whispers, hinting Kyuhyun’s probably got the flu.
