I wish I had virtual realities software in high school. I remember breaking beakers because I was so nervous. Never the less I learned lots.

I agree with what you wrote about hands on learning. Is there really any other kind. This is how the most meaningful learning takes place, when a child is able to maniuplate things for themsleves as well as consrtuct their own meaning.

Great post, Diane

Maybe we could research furthure into this. What do you say? It would be interesting to find out, what other ways are effective to a child's learning.

Hello Angella,

I liked your thoughts on virtual reality and microworlds. It was very thought provoking and interesting. You always put a lot of effort into your comments and it is greatly appreciative by all of us. I too also agree that microworlds would have been an interesting tool to have when growing up b/c I am a visual and hands on learner and these tools such as Math Cats, Interactive Physics, StarLogo, SimCalc, Counting Money, and Snowflakes would have helped me learn quicker. At least that is what I think. I like the quote you used from the text that these tools provides "self-regulated learning"(pp 195) which would be true in my case.

Anyways Great Reflection.

Cheers

Christina
