Just want to ask if anyone else excited about the Persona 3 movie that is going to come out? also about the news that the Persona team is now focused on Persona 5 now.
Well, that's one of the reasons right there. :P I was enjoying P4A until the OH MY GOD I CAN'T SLEEP IN A TENT WITH YOU GAY THINGS WILL HAPPEN AND THAT IS HORRIBLE stuff managed to be worse than it was in the game, and then I ragequit. And P3 never really had anything happen on that level, but I'm still worried that the movie will invent something. Or decide that self-harm/drug addiction/both are totally hilarious.
And I don't think a single movie can handle P3's plot without something suffering for it, so. There's that. (Personal character biases have me convinced that Strega and especially Chidori will get completely screwed over with regards to screentime. But then, the game kind of completely screwed Chidori over, so that might not actually be paranoia...)
The last reason is that the movie isn't going to be about Hamuko. :| I'm sick of the male protagonist always being the default.
(...on a side note, does anyone know how P4: The Golden handles that? Does Margaret still talk exclusively about Elizabeth, or does she go

I agree on pretty much everything--god how did they manage to make the homophobic BS WORSE than the game that takes talent--but the "picking up chicks" scene at the beach was incredibly painful and offensive BEFORE it went the trans misogynistic route. (Not that p4 wasn't also soaked in transphobia, but at least Naoto was cool and intended to be liked.)
I don't have a PSP and my comp is kinda old and crappy for emulation, so I haven't played p3p yet, but I am excited to one day when I can afford to. >.> But, yeah, orz male-as-default.
I'm definitely excited, but I also can't help but be a bit apprehensive since, like baxaronn said, there's just too much plot to justify it as a two hour animation. I'm particularly concerned with how they're going to handle Ryoji, since I think the game itself really lampshaded his tragedy and the genuine connection he shared with the MC, and I can only imagine what the limited time will do to that. Ryoji is the character greatest tied to how the game itself ends, and I just really, really hope they give him the screentime he deserves and never fully got, even in P3P
